The beach house we rented (on the internet) located at mile marker 101. One house for two people left plenty of room.
We had intended to rent a van. But we wound up with this old rustbucket.
A map of the Pennekamp State Park Coral Reef Reserve. Because of weather conditions, this is where we did all of our diving.
The famous statue, “Christ of the Abyss” located at North Dry rock. Nothing like a little religion.
There were jellyfish everywhere at the surface. Both of us managed to get stung one way or another.
It smarts! |
Relaxing at the beach house after a tough first day. Notice the can of mosquito spray. They were small but incredibly fierce.
A nurse shark lying in wait at a site called “Elbow”. Because of weather, we did several dives at this site.
A lobster on the elbow.
A colorful needle fish.
A yellow ray — well camouflaged, don’t you think?
Beautiful parrot fish against colorful coral formations.
