Known as the Valley Isle, Maui is the 2nd largest island in the Hawaiian chain. Maui is known for long stretches of beautiful beaches and the landmark Haleakala Crater, the House  of the Sun.  Maui is also the breeding ground for the Humpback Whale, who winters here before returning to Alaska.

Roatan Island is located off the northern shore of Honduras,Central America.  Our route of flight took us from San Francisco to San Salvador, a second flight  to La Ceiba and a commuter flight to the island.

"Bonaire is a small island in Carribean waters located off the northern tip of Venezuela. Our flight took us from San Francisco through Miami to Curacao and connected with a puddle jumper to Bonaire.  Bonaire is a member of the Dutch Antilles Chain and its waters are protected by STINAPA (Netherlands Antilles National Parks Foundation)."

September 1998 Key Largo is one of Florida's keys located about 100 miles south of Miami. Most of the coral reefs are located within the Pennekamp State Park.  Because of rough weather, most of our dives were in the park. We departed just three days before hurricane Georges hit Marathon key.

April 1997 Cozumel is a small island located east of Cancun, Mexico. Getting to the island can be an adventure in itelf.  We took a taxi from the Cancun airport to Plya Del Carmen, a bicycle-car (manned by a 10 year old) down to the dock and a ferry across to Cozumel island.
